In the year 2018, India was the fourth-largest automobile market and the seventh-largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles. With the rise in middle-class income and the ever-growing younger population in India, the trend is bound to be carried forward.The government aims to develop India as a global manufacturing center. ‘Electric vehicles’ is a thrust area of the government.Automobile design, automobile engineering drawing, auto electrical systems, diesel engine service, automobile air conditioning, automobile servicing and maintenance, mechatronics, laboratory works in two and three-wheeler servicing are some of the subjects in the syllabus.
